About the African Currency Forum 2027
The Association of African Banknote and Secure Documents Printers (AABSDP) is pleased to announce the fifth edition of the African Currency Forum, hosted by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE), from 1 to 4 February 2027 in Hurghada, Egypt.
The Forum brings together central banks, issuing authorities, government security printers, technology providers, cash-industry specialists and international suppliers to explore the challenges, innovations and developments shaping banknotes worldwide, with a particular focus on Africa.
Through presentations, technical sessions, panel discussions and professional networking, participants will explore banknote and security-document printing, security and design, substrates, cash processing, currency management, anti-counterfeiting and sustainability.
The event offers practical insight to support decisions throughout the banknote lifecycle, from specification and procurement to production, circulation, processing and eventual replacement. It also connects African issuing authorities with international partners to exchange expertise and assess emerging technologies.
